Yes, and we remind you to. In many US states and across Europe, recording or transcribing someone without telling them is against the law. It is also just fair. In practice most people are fine with it. Saying "I have an AI assistant helping me with notes" is normal now.
No. It runs on your computer and listens to the sound coming from your speakers. It does not join the call. Nobody sees it in the participant list. No one gets a recording alert from us.
No. Your speech is turned into text, used right away, and then deleted. Nothing is saved on your computer or on our servers. This means you cannot go back and read an old call. We think that trade is worth it.
By the session. The clock starts when you open an assistant and covers everything — live answers, screen reading, summaries. It pauses on its own after five minutes with no activity, so stepping away costs nothing. Hours you buy never expire, and there is no monthly plan.
For practice, yes. Practice mode asks realistic questions and tells you honestly where you need work. For a real evaluation, check the rules first. Many companies and schools do not allow help, and getting caught can cost you the opportunity. We do not build anything to hide the app from exam software.
All of them. Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Webex, Slack calls, even a phone on speaker. It listens to your computer sound, so there is nothing to connect and nothing breaks when they update.
Two reasons. First, you cannot type a question while someone is talking to you. MeetingMate hears the question itself. Second, ChatGPT does not know your prices or your notes. MeetingMate already has your files, so it gives you your real numbers, not a general answer.

The first download is small. Open it, and it will download the full app with a progress bar.
⌘ Space, type Terminal, press Enter.Why? Apple charges developers an annual fee to sign apps. We haven’t bought that certificate yet, so macOS flags anything downloaded from the web that lacks one — with a message that wrongly says “damaged.” The command above just clears the download flag. Nothing else on your Mac changes.
Windows will show a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen. That's normal for a new installer without a paid Microsoft signing certificate — it's not a virus warning about this specific file.
Why? Microsoft charges developers for a code-signing certificate. We haven't bought one yet, so SmartScreen flags any installer without one — for every publisher, not just us. It's the same reason macOS shows its own warning below.
